Sol, I took your tour last night. The tour was great, but I have to say that you were the one that truly made it. Thank you so much. I will pass this on to the other Delta Airline crews..

Awesome! Mac & Sol are refreshingly passionate about BA and it made the tour more personal, than just "tour-risy".

We did both the 11am and 5pm tour with Maca on a Saturday (the last day before we return home). Maca was fantastic and very informative, yet very funny and entertaining. We look forward to come back to BA. Many thanks!!!.

The BA Free Tours provide a refreshing look at Buenos Aires through two very different areas narrated by enthusiastic young entrepreneurs. They really have a wonderful insight into the architecture and history of their city and join the past to the present with ease. Sol in particular provides many helpful recommendations about where to go to eat and / or enjoy more of BA after leaving their tour. The time spent with them was one of the highlights of our stay in BA..

Today I took the tour with Sol. She was magnificant! She was friendly, and knowledgeable, and very very candid. I appreciated that. Thanks for the tour, Sol!
.
Jenny | Aristocratic tour
We took both tours, one with Gaston and one with Sol. Both were fabulous! We learned a lot, laughed a lot and got a real sense of the architecture, history, current politics, social fabric and the BA culture. It was fun to meet others from around the world and hear about their adventures both in BA and other travels as well. Don't miss these tours while in BA! The were both just the best! .

Gaston walked with us for three hours in an informative and entertaining city tour of Buenos Aires in late January 2010. For me, it was an excellent reprise and overview of my just-concluded three days visiting the city with my tour group..

Gaston is a font of knowledge and opinions. A great tour - a must do. He doesn't rush, entertains all questions and makes Argentina history understandable to those with little knowledge. He is also helpful with suggestions. We also took the evening tour through beautiful, French inspired Ricoleta. The guide even made a call for me when I needed to find something. There IS such a thing as a free lunch!.
Viviane Gentile | Columbia Maryland
Many thanks to Gaston for a fun an informative morning City Tour of Buenos Aires. Was absolutely fantastic! Will be looking to book Mataderos and Scoor tours from you soon! .
Brent | Calgary, AB Canada
I recently took the 11:00 tour with Gaston and the 5:00 tour witn Maca and both were fabulous! We took the tours our first full day in BA and it was the perfect way to start out our trip. They both had a great sense of humor and were very patient with picture taking and question answering. I also felt like they told us a lot of the history as well as lot of 'insider information' that you wouldn't find in any travel books. It really made the rest of our week that much better given the history, information and advice we learned on the tour. It was also fun to meet some other English speaking tourists and get their insights on what to do or where to eat, etc. I would highly recommend taking both of these tours to start out your BA vacation!.
Erin | St. Louis, MO
I've taken the 5:00 free tour with Sol twice. I'm living here in BA studying spanish and when friends visit the free tour is one of the first I suggest. It's free, informative, and the guide is fantastic. Sol is funny, knows her history and is very helpful. She will stay after to answer your questions about the city and help you plan other activities. She even emails with you afterwards if you have questions. I would highly recommend the free tours!!!.
Michelle | Alexandria, VA
Dear Sol:
We are the 20 people group join your walking tour on 3/26/2009 start at Plaza Del Congreso
It is such a great pleasure to have this tour with you. We all enjoyed it so much.
The restaurant you recommend is so good, Some of us went back there the next day.
We should have listen to your recommendation of the Tango show as well, next time when you come to New York, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

We took the morning tour while visiting BA in July. An excellent way feel part of the city. It was a freezing day and our guide did a great job in livening up the day with his knowledge and sense of humour. My husband wasn't so keen that our guide mentioned political issues but I personally found it added to the enjoyment of the tour. We felt safe while we covered lots of city streets. Gracias!.
Laura | Queensland Australia
hi, thank you for your tour today at 11am and 5pm. it is such a fantastic idea that you guys put this together. BA is very intimidating and you did a great service to your country and city by exposing us turistas to the beauty of BA and also the hospitality of portenas. thank you very much, i'm much more comfortable walking around BA and being informed helps use travellers smarter about our surroundings so that we try to avoid pitfalls of travelling to unknown areas. i look forward to taking a futbol match through you guys. i will be back in BA in two weeks. let me know if there are any matches from the 22-26 of ssept. thnk you!.

My husband and I recently took both tours with Maca. We learned so much and had a great time. Muchas gracias, Maca, por tus sugerencias y una gira divertida e informativa!.
Lauren | Washington DC
I took both the morning and afternoon tours and thoroughly enjoyed them both! Both guides were funny and informative. There knowledge was impressive and they were able to answer the questions the group through at them.
To sum up - excellent and highly recommended!!.
Trina | Birmingham, England
I took both the morning and afternoon tours, and was very impressed by the level of knowledge and enthusiasm of the guides. They are very interested in explaining their city to visitors, and they are good at answering questions. They don't shy away from controversial topics, which I appreciate..

We had a great tour with Gaston last week. It was a wonderful way to orient ourselves to the city and to learn something about Argentina's history. Highly recommended!!.
Joyce
Great way to start your visit to BA. Gaston delivers an informative and slick presentation of the city he loves. Great concept, well done!!!.
Dave | NZ
My husband and I did the morning tour yesterday and it was wonderful. Gaston is extremely nice and knowledgeable. We are going to do the evening tour with Sol tomorrow but I heard that it was equally awesome. We learned a lot about the city and its history. Thanks to Gaston we had the best empanadas and were able to walk around and discover more. Great way to start any trip to Buenos Aires..
MLL | Miami US | TripAdvisor.com
I did both tours in the same day and have to say that Gaston is a great guide. He gives not only a great insight about BA but also shares curious stories about the city. Try them at no risk at all.
.
Paulo | Lisbon Portugal
I would recommend this tour as the best way of seeing the major sights of downtown BA (often called the microcentro). Our guide was Sol, who was knowledgeable, friendly and communicated well in English. I also took a 1/2 day city tour run by a major operator in a bus, and enjoyed the Free Tour much more. The sights are best seen on foot, you get more time, you generally meet some interesting people on walking tours, and the guide was much better. The only advantage of the 1/2 day city tours run by larger operators is that you see the "uptown" sights as well, though BA Free Tour also operate a second walking tour (which I didn't do) for those sights.
I really like the idea these tours are free - but they earn their money from tips……….
Nick | Leeds UK | TripAdvisor.com
A great introduction to the city! Relaxed and laid back approach, but very informative... we learned a lot about the rich culture and history of the city. Guide was very knowledgable, fun and interesting... Gaston went out of his way to give us futher suggestions for our stay in BA. Well worth the 2 hours!!
.
Graham MacDonald
This was one of the highlights of my trip to the lovely city of Buenos Aires. The tours are very relaxed and informal and give great insight into the history and culture of the city. The tours are led by the very charming and hilarious Gaston and Sol and go for about 2hrs. Its a facinating look into the history of Argentina through the eyes of a local and will only enhance your visit to this beautiful city, a must do for any traveller in Buenos Aires. Their private tours to Mataderos Fair was also an enjoyable and interesting outing for anyone wanting to see the locals at play!.
Namis | Australia
My sister and I both had a blast on the tour... very informative and fun, with information and facts about the city that you can't necessarily get from a book. Wonderful! :).

Our nicest experience in Buenos Aires, thanks to Gaston.
We enjoyed his tour in downtown so much so we also took their Sunday special tour (not free) with Sol.

We have done both morn and afternon tours, and both are excellent. Interesting, informative and lively. You are taken around by people who clearly love the city, and know a lot about it. It should be the first thing you do in BA to get yourself acquainted..
Carolina Saavedra | Chile
These two tours are the first things you should do when you get to BA. They are great ways to learn your way around the city, plus you will learn all the relevant history. So why this tour over any other? Because Gaston and Sol are young, funny, and in addition to giving a great tour, they will give you great advice on other stuff to do in the city like bars, clubs, restaurants, and other activities that many other tour guides simply can't do.
.

This was a great experience. My family and I went on both tours, and they were very informative and relaxed. Gaston was my guide both times, and he was great! Good experience for anyone in Buenos Aires. There are a lot of great sights to see!.

We did the morning tour on our second day, its a great way to learn the main areas of central Buenos Aires. Gastol (our guide) was very well informed and funny, giving us a true Portenos point of view. Highly recommended....
Jim | Ireland | TripAdvisor.com
Great way to get familiar with BsAs; a basic introduction in an informal and personal style. I did this on my 3rd day in the city so I had seen most of the sights already and read the guidebook - so I think I would have got more out of the aristocratic tour, which will surely try out during my stay too. But definitely worth trying out - interesting and informal. A must do.

This was a informative, fun tour. We completed the 2 tours and they will tell you a lot of useful insite about the city (which a paid tour did not tell us). The day tour was very informative of the city history and political background. The host was very funny and a absolute joy!!! The evening tour show the rich area of BA (Recoletta and Reitro) and told you about the rich family and there homes. Both yours were different and should be completed. WARNING: The day tour guide warned us about people with green vests at the 5 PM tour saying they are from Free BA tour and asking for money for the tour. This tour is completely FREE tour, they will not ask you for anything except feedback if you want to give it and of course if you enjoy it, which I know you will, you can give them a tip since this is how they make there living. You cannot miss this tour when you visit the city, well worth 2 hours..

Thanks so much for showing me around BA in my first full day here!! Met some GREAT people...had a wonderful time!.
Michelle Moore | USA
The free walking tours of Buenos Aires given by Gaston and Sol are a terrific way to get oriented to the important parts of the city while getting a nice laid-back education about the history and quirks of BA and Argentina. I uarantee you'll get lots of ideas about what parts of the city to revisit and spend more time in. Both of the tour guides are great young people who obviously love their city and love showing it to new friends. They'll fill you in on upcoming events to visit, and make themselves available to help you figure out the best restaurants and other places to go to. Thanks guys!.
Roger | San Francisco, CA | TripAdvisor.com
My wife and I participated in both tours last week. Thanks again, Gaston and Sol! The time spent with you was a treasure. For those considering this tour, do it! You will get the real inside story in a relaxed and fun manner. Learn from the Porteños how and why they love their city.

We just want to thank you both, (Gaston and Sol)for sharing your beautiful city with us. We took the 11am tour with Gaston (thanks for the sunscreen) and on the same day, the 5pm tour with Sol (thanks for the information about the "special" milonga). Both tours were very informative and offered your own personal insights into the daily lives of the porteño people. Our friends took the same tour a few days after we did and enjoyed a similar experience with you. Even though it was a very hot day you managed to capture our attention through the duration of the tour. Thanks again to you both and the very best in your future endeavours..

I really enjoyed the BA Free Tour. It was a great introduction to the city and I would definitely recommend it to anybody traveling to Buenos Aires for the first time. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and I learned the interesting histories behind many sites that I would not have known if I went site seeing on my own..
Sarah | San Diego, California
Highly recommend this tour group! I did both the free tours and loved them. I really liked the Buenos Aires City tour. I love history. The Aristocratic tour was cool too. I can't wait to go investigate some of the places that Gaston showed us. Gaston was awesome!!.

We were very tired on Saturday morning after our first night partying in Buenos Aires but Sol our guide was great, she had great energy and passion for her city with just enough info to keep it interesting and fun. We would definately recommend this tour..

I took both the 11:00 am and 5:00 pm tours during the week of February 9, 2009 and I HIGHLY recommend both! I learned a lot about the country, and both Gaston (11:00 am) and Sol (5:00 pm) were knowledgable, pleasant, and fun to be with! They work on tips, and believe me, when the tours are over, you will be eager to provide an excellent tip, because you will have seen many of the major sites in the city, and you will have learned a great deal! I'm SO VERY GLAD that I went!.
Sandra B | Chicago
This is truly a fabulous way to see Buenos Aires. We did both tours in one day! It was a healthy and unique way to learn about the history, customs and culture through the experiences and knowledge of our guides who brought an engaging insight of Buenos Aires and the people of Argentina. Sol and Gaston spoke English and provided such personalized professionalism we have yet to see in the many other tours we have take around the world. We highly recommend both these tours. Worthy of a big tip!
.

We took Gaston's daytime tour in February 2009 & it was great. We had already walked a lot of the tour on our own, but never looked up to appreciate the beautiful architecture. Learned a lot, met some interesting fellow travelers from all around the world & appreciated Gaston's knowledge of history & love of his city. Kudos!.
Ganda | Virginia, US | TripAdvisor.com
A perfect start to exploring BA. Gaston gives an extremely informative tour. Architecture and history in BA is facinating and Gaston delivers on both. Highly recommended!!.
Rick Hughes
That BA Free Tour offers such a comprehensive and unforgettable experience on a tips only basis (& in English!) exemplifies both the professionalism of this local company and the warmth and vibrance of the Buenos Aires people. This is a 'Must Do!'.
E. Cutler | New Zealand
Did both the 5:00 oclock tour with Sol and the 11:00 oclock tour with Gaston. I almost didn't go (how good could a free tour be anyway) but what a smart move that I went! The tours were just fabulous and took me to places that I just never would have known about on my own and weren't in any guide book. To Sol and Gaston: I am very sure you got more business because I talked up your tours to all the people I met as I travelled down to Patagonia. Several people told me they were going to go. Plus I posted on tripadvisor and a few people wrote to me and asked me questions about the tour and told me they were going to check out your tour. I wish you continued success!.
Nancy
Excellent - I think everyone should do this on their first day. Very informative and well conducted - how you do this without getting anyone run over or left behind everyday is amazing! Well done.
Ash Parmar
This was the most professional and well conducted tour I have been on and it is amazing that it was free - well we left a tip of course so not quite free.
In a city with so many attractions it was good to have someone tell you what was worth visiting and what wasn't and to give you some background and history of the city.
It would be nice to see this being done by students in all countries. This should definitely be the first thing you do in Buenos Aires, if you are travelling alone it is also a good way to meet people..

This is a company started by Gaston and Sol. They both have excellent English and know a fair amount about the city. They survive by tips which is a great incentive for them to give you the best walking tour of your life. I had only a few days in BA and I went on two different days, there's a 5 PM tour more of the residential areas and a 11 AM tour of the major gov't buildings. Both are about two hours and don't require RSVPS. Just show up near the meeting points and look for other tourist like folks. Meeting points are detailed on their website. Definitely take the time to do this.....

We just came back from our trip to Buenos Aires. We took both of the tours and loved them! We saw so much of the city and learned alot. We are really glad that we found these tours and would highly recommended it to anyone!.

I went on two tours with this group. It was unlike any other. Gaston and Sol are so knowledgeable about BA and they are so personable. Made it feel like you were hanging with friends! Gaston guided us through parts of the city and the stories of history were told with so many facts. Sol was so helpful at the Feria Matadores showing us where to shop, what to look for and explaining the Argentinian culture along the way. I highly recommend these tour guides. I will use them again on my next trip to Buenos Aires!.

Great way to get a lot of information about the city, and get great advice from a very friendly local tour guide, fluent in English. Get insights you wouldn't get walking around on your own, but also enjoy walking around with someone you feel like you know. Best way to start off the visit to Buenos Aires, would be well worth it even if it wasn't free
.

Wow! I mean wow! I’m naturally a skeptical person… nothing free can really be that good... But then we met Gaston, our tour guide for the day. He was knowledgeable, interesting, and insightful. He knew all about BA’s history and the main sites to see.
I went on the morning tour which covered most of the main sites in BA except for Recoleta Cemetery… but don’t worry, that’s covered on their afternoon free tour at 5 PM! There is absolutely no reason to pay for a tour guide in Buenos Aires when these guys are in business. We just showed up at the meeting point (Rivadavia Ave and Rodriguez Peña street in the Plaza del Congreso at 11 AM) and off we went. This is a must if you want a good overview of the city. This tour is truly exceptional..
Boston | TripAdvisor.com
An excellent tour for anyone visiting Buenos Aires. Gaston knows the city, knows his history and provides super commentary along the way. We can't imagine a better tour at any price. You'll learn a lot. Make sure you bring enough dinero to tip him well..

This morning,I took the Buenos Aires Free Tour.It was a great experience! Easy accessible, lots of nice people and a great way to get to know a little bit more about this lovely city!
Thanks!.

I would recommend this walking tour to anyone. Gaston is friendly, knowledgeable and makes the time pass quickly. This tour is a great way to get a general overview of the history of Argentina and the highlights of Buenos Aires. Gaston even tells you what attractions in the city are not worth your time - we appreciated that as much as his recommendations of what to include.
You don't need to ponder it .. just show up at 11 am .. you won't regret it..
Jim | USA
I took the tour in early January. It was great to get the historic and architectural background of the City/Country from Gaston. No political agenda, just the facts, from all points of view, except soccer talk, he is an Argentinian !!!!. Gaston spoke perfect english,………he'll even recommend restaraunts and other things to do. It was a very enjoyable 2 hour walking activity. Highly recommended. Do it your first morning to get a good overview to start your stay in BA..

I did the morning walking tour the first day I was in BA. It was very helpful and gave me a good overview of the layout of the city - so much so that I was ready to venture out and explore San Telmo and Puerto Madero on my own afterwards. Also, our group was small enough that we could ask questions and get recommendations for things to do and places to eat afterwards. It was a very pleasant experience and well worth the two hours plus tips!.

I did the aristocratic tour first and enjoyed it so much that i went to do the city tour the next day! The guides are friendly and funny and give some great tips how get the best out of you trip in Buenos Aires. The tour included historical information as well as funny anacdotes and trivia. i recommend it both to those visiting BA and those who are living here and want to hear a new perspective on their city!.

Gracias.

First my friend and me took the 11am walk and were very impressed with Gaston. This is an excellent, informal, informative tour from a native BA himself whom has lived in the US and speaks excellent English. Then later we took the afternoon walk through Recoletta area with Sol. They both are a wealth of information and these walk are a great way to "do" the city. We love you BA. DON'T FORGET TO TIP THEM!.
Michelle | West Palm Beach, FL.
We had a great tour with Gaston on Monday. BA is his city, and he knows so much about the history. He was also available as we walked to answer questions, and give other tips about BA. After the tour, he took the time to give us detailed directions of how to get to the Murillo shopping area (for leather). I recommend this tour to give you a clear history of some BA historical highlights!.

Did this tour last Friday, really enjoy it. Very passionate about the city and really informative, which is about everything that you need. Great. Thanks..

Nuevamente muchas gracias.

C'mon guys, you don't need to risk your life following the road in a map walking down the streets of BA, you have just to stay at the meeting point of BA Free Tour in time and you'll have the most well experienced guide of this stunning and dynamic capital!!
We were with the super Gaston, but we bet Sol is knowledgeable and entertainng as weel as him!!! Greetings.

Gaston and Sol are awesome! I took the tours early in the week, which gave me invaluable perspective and guidance on Buenos Aires, the city layout, sights to see, places not on a map or in a tour book. The history and info tidbits only a local would know made the tour so personable. It's was definitely one the highlights of my trip!! And YES! It is FREE! Just show up and look for a green shirt!.

I did this tour today, and I was lucky enough to get a one on one, due to nobody else showing up. The tour was incredibly informational. I learned stuff that a basic tour guide just wouldn´t be able to provide. Gaston was the man´s name and I thought he did a pretty good job. Its a free tour that thrive on tips. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking not just the sights, but also the information..

I had a great tour today with tons of information that a tour book just doesn’t provide. We covered a lot of ground and my guide was very well informed on the history of Argentina..

Just came from a most wonderful 4 day holiday in Buenos Aires. Not knowing where to start with the many places to visit and things to do in Buenos Aires, I was happy to find through Trip Advisor this website that advertised free tours of Buenos Aires. Feeling a little skeptical ("free" tours? must have a catch!), I decided to call them anyway to arrange a tour (well, it's not actually "free", they work 100% for tips). Little did I know, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made on the trip.
The Aristocratic BA walking tour my wife and I joined was two and a half hours full of fun and very interesting insights from our very friendly guide Sol, who took us around the neighborhoods of Retiro and Recoleta. It was like having one of your good friends (who happens to be a local) take you around town and give you a tour of the city that only a friend can give you (not to mention happily take photos for you!). We had such a good time that we ended up also taking the next morning's Buenos Aires free city tour, which had Sol's equally friendly brother Gaston as our guide. Gaston took us around Plaza de Mayo, Congreso and other places in Centro, and we thoroughly enjoyed his humor and attention to detail during the tour as he toured us around. Between those 2 tours and total of 5 hours with Sol and Gaston, my wife and I felt that we had covered so much of Buenos Aires' most interesting places to visit as well as learned quite a bit about the city's history, culture and people. All in all, I was extremely pleased with both tours. Very highly recommended!.

Thanks very much to the guy who did my tour on saturday... can´t remember his name, which is terrible since it was only yesterday! Anyway, he was superb, very knowledgeable about Buenos Aires and argentine history in general, unbiased and full of useful tips about where to drink, eat and shop..
